Friday Night Fun

Friday night we had a "kid" party! We were tending Journee and Kage and Ashtynn. We had fun watching movies (Harry and the Henderson's and then Tom & Jerry) and eating popcorn. I guess I should say, it was fun until bedtime. But we solved that....did away with bedtime. (only at grandma's house). Ashtynn brought "beautiful" dolls to play with! The threesome always have fun when they are together!!! Oh yeah! We invited these guys too!! Bruce got Happy Meals for all the kids too. Lucky them....Theodore was in each bag. He even talks!!! We were so happy!!!
We hope it's always fun to come to grandma and grandpa's house!!!

Welcome The "Monster" (#30)

Here' is the latest addition to the garage! We went to Utah yesterday to pick it up. Jake has nicknamed it "Monster" because it reminds him of a Monster Truck. It is a 2002 Ford Excursion (7.3L Diesel). It is a pretty truck!! It fills the garage quite nicely!!

As you can see it's pretty tall!! Hope I don't get assigned to visiting teach with a little old lady!! It will be fun getting used to driving it...and to the sound of the diesel . But we will love the room in it!! Don't worry...it has a DVD player in it

Jake has big plans now.......a trip to Arizona and one to Washington....be prepared for company!!!

Happy New Year 2010

Welcome 2010.
We welcomed the New Year with our dear friends, Rod & Vickie, Rachel & Kodi and their friends Tory and Amy. We ate GREAT food (steak & shrimp) and played some fun games. Then we pulled out the sparkling cider! We love our family and friends!!! New Year's Day we ventured out to the movie. We took Auntie Terena and Journee with us. Bruce was out getting the car (he had to park a long way a way--there were 5 million people at the movie that afternoon). We enjoyed Alvin and the Chipmunks....and Journee enjoyed her first trip to the movie theater.
Today, Saturday, we bundled the kids up so they could play in the new snow! This little one didn't want to come in. Kage LOVED the snowmachine!!
Grandpa Bruce took them for a ride....and then Rachel took a turn. I think they had a ball! It was the perfect day to play in the snow!!!
We wish you to have a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Primary Christmas Program

This year for Jake's Primary Program he was a wiseman. He looked pretty nice! The kids did a very nice job on their parts, but my favorite part every year is their singing! They love to sing!!! And there is nothing more touching to the heart than Christmas songs being sung by a room full of special needs kids!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Thanksgiving 2009

We started the LONG Thanksgiving Weekend off by visiting the Festival of Trees on the Friday before Thanksgiving. Jake's group from Journey's sang! Then it was off to see Santa. We had to snap the picture fast since Kage wasn't sure about that guy in the white beard!! But Journee spent a while on his lap letting him know exactly what she wanted him to bring her.....lucky mom & dad!!!
On the Friday after Thanksgiving we got to help welcome home our cousin (and nephew). Jake enjoyed the BIG hug he got from Tyrell!!! Now, it's back to the every day stuff!! Christmas tree is on the agenda tomorrow, along with other things! Jake's Special Needs Primary Christmas program is this coming Friday. He loves to participate!! And we love to listen to the kids sing!!!

Field Trip to the Candy Shop

I got to spend this morning with Journee on her field trip for her pre-school. They went to a candy shop. Her teacher's mother has a candy shop in her basement. She has been making chocolates for 30 years (minus a few years because of going on 5 missions). It smells sooooooo good!!

She let all the kids put a marshmallow into the machine!! And Mrs. Long took them out and put them on a tray to "set up".

The final results were YUMMY!!!

We had a fun time.....and even got to buy some before we left to come home!! Chocolate covered cinnamon bears, cherry cordials and a box of assorted chocolates. Can't wait to open them!!!
